ROLE OF C-REACTIVE PROTEIN (CRP) IN ATHERSCLEROSIS – A MINI-REVIEW

This review aims to summarize the general principles of using C-Reactive Protein (CRP) as a prognostic indicator and its pathophysiology in atherosclerosis. CRP is vital in predicting atherosclerosis and as such serve as valuable tool in the diagnosis and prognosis of atherosclerosis. So CRP is used as independent predictor of risk of atherosclerosis. In addition to increase our knowledge aiming at estimating serum hs-CRP levels whether to use as a biomarker in ischemic stroke patients. Provided some tips for the management of atherosclerosis based on limited data currently available in the present and past literature.
