Abstract

A CASE REPORT ON ADULT POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE

Adult Polycystic kidney disease (APKD) is an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts develop in the kidneys. Cysts are noncancerous round sacs containing water-like fluid. The cysts vary in size and, as they accumulate more fluid, they can grow very large. Although kidneys usually are the most severely affected organs, it can cause cysts to develop in liver and elsewhere in body. The disease causes a variety of serious complications. A common complication of polycystic kidney disease is high blood pressure and kidney failure. It varies greatly in its severity, and some complications are preventable. Lifestyle changes and medical treatments may reduce damage to kidneys from complications. We report a case of 56 year old female patient diagnosed as polycystic kidney disease. She came to Dr.Appa Rao with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. At this stage she started his Immunotherapy. After starting his treatment her complaints subsided in just two doses. Thereafter she continued this treatment for two years and then took intermittently. Eventually the disease is improved by his treatment
