CLINICAL PRESENTATION OF NAIL CHANGES FOLLOWING ANTI NEOPLASTIC AGENTS: A CASE REPORT

Paclitaxel is a chemotherapy agent used in the management of many neoplastic conditions. These malignant diseases would include lung, breast, ovary, head and neck and prostate cancer.We report a case of 52 yrs old women received paclitaxel chemotherapy for breast cancer. She had nail changes as a complication of treatment. Although chemotherapy-related nail toxicity is not a life threatening adverse event. Using the hertwig scale score it was concluded that there was a probable association with chemotherapy drug. However we are reporting this case to increase awareness among prescribers and patients who are receiving anti neoplastic drugs.
