Abstract

SEASONAL VARIATION IN ANTI ULCEROGENIC EFFECT OF AMARANTHUS SPINOSUS L. LEAVES

Seasonal variation in anti ulcerogenic effect of Amaranthus spinosus L. leaves, if any, was studied in peptic ulcer models in rats. Results showed that A. spinosus L. leaves collected during the months of May and June had maximum anti peptic ulcer activity in ethanol induced gastric ulcers and cysteamine induced duodenal ulcers in rats
