Abstract

Indian population is second highest of total world population. According to Global Multidimensional Poverty Index [MPI] 2017; 689 million poor children live in India.In terms of the number of multidimensionally poor children as a proportion of the total population, India has 37th position among 103 countries. Out of India‟s 217 million (21.7 corer) children, 49.9% were multidimensionally poor. The present aim is to conduct study on health conditions of children residing in orphanage and minority residential schools. It was found out that most of them are suffering from various ailments although they are being provided with minimum standards. Hence regular medical checkup should be done to maintain their standard of living.
