Uterine prolapse is a form of female genital prolapse.it is falling or sliding of the womb (uterus) from its normal position into the vaginal area. It is a major health problem affecting millions of women’s throughout the world. It is a hushed disorder with an enormous effect on women’s quality of life and it is frequent condition for gynecological surgery. It was first recorded on the Kahun papyri (ancient Egyptian text) .Hippocrates and most of ancient physician described numerous nonsurgical treatments for this condition. By looking at the milestone moments in its accomplish history we are able to acknowledge the evolution of urogynecology and to gain prospective on challenges faced by today’s female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeons in their attempts to treat uterine and vaginal prolapse.
