increased medication adherence, and decreased health care usage. Such programs include direct interaction between a
pharmacist and patients to maximize pharmacotherapy, teach inhaler technique, recognize triggers, and provide
individualized assistance. Pharmacists contribute to improved asthma control and prevention of exacerbation by providing
complete medication management, such as prescribed regimen changes, adverse event monitoring, and medication proper
use. These programs are also focused on the education of the patients empowering them to be the active partners of their
asthma management and make reasonable choices regarding lifestyle change. It has been established that interventions
conducted by pharmacists yield better clinical outcomes, like less hospitalizations, emergency room visits, and quality of life.
Moreover, making pharmacists a part of a team of healthcare professionals helps to add more personalized patient-centered
care. Since asthma is a significant health issue in the world, asthma management initiatives led by pharmacists form a costefficient and sustainable solution to the burden of asthma and enhancing patient outcomes.
<Email>lakavathtejasri999@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>16</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2026</year><keyword>Pharmacist-based interventions, asthma control, medication compliance, disease control</keyword><AUTHORS>ejasri L, Gowthami M, Prasad Rao B1, Vanaja M,Nagaraju M</AUTHORS><afflication>Pharm.D Intern, Department of Pharmacy Practice, KLR Pharmacy College, Paloncha, Telangana, India,Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, KLR Pharmacy College, Paloncha, Telangana, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
